I was talking to a friend of mine, an athlete, who’s played at a competitive level most of his life. We were talking about how I like to run in the urban forest. “Don’t you think that’s dangerous?” he said. “Not really. I’ve studied martial arts, I feel confident physically and I project that.” “Yeah,” he said. “We’re taught that in rugby. If you see someone coming at you, you just run straight into him as hard as you can.”
I like that. As a philosophy for facing obstacles. Run straight into it as hard as you can.
